The Monaghan-based Datacare Software Group has developed software which allows companies to electronically file forms with Britain's Company Registration Office.

Datacare's company secretarial software, Secretariat, will facilitate the electronic filing. This option is still not available through the Companies Registration Office in the Republic, but Datacare says it has been in contact about applying the service here.

Datacare also recently launched a share schemes administration software package to cater for a growing number of shares and share options schemes in operation in Britain. Initially aimed at the highly popular "Save As You Earn" and "Share Option" schemes, it now plans to localise the product for the Irish market following the Minister for Finance, Mr McCreevy's Budget announcement that he plans to introduce tax advantages to promote SAYE schemes here.
