THE good news on the jobs front is continuing, with 125 new jobs announced for Limerick and the possibility of several hundred new jobs in Dublin indicated yesterday.

US owned pharmaceutical and adhesives manufacturer Adhesives Research Incorporated is to create 125 new jobs in Limerick as part of a £10 million investment. The new jobs were announced by the Minister for Health, Mr Noonan, in who's constituency the firm is located.

Over 60 of the new jobs are expected to be filled within the next three years with the remainder coming on stream over a further two year period.

The Limerick centre will produce pharmaceutical and medical products for the European market.

Adhesive Research is a privately owned company, founded in 1961 by its chairman, Mr Erwin Huber It employs 240 people at its US headquarters in Pennsylvania.

Meanwhile, Oracle Computers, which employs 200 people in Dublin, is considering a possible expansion" in Ireland that could create several, hundred jobs, according to its vice president, Mr Pier Carlo Falotti.

Speaking in Dublin yesterday, Mr, Falotti said Ireland is being considered by the computer software company.

The company is expected to make a final decision on its location shortly. Oracle already has plans to increase its workforce in Ireland to 550 by the end of 1998.

The company is Ireland's `fifth' largest information technology exporter, shipping some $750 million (£490 million) worth of software from Ireland every year.
