Bank of Ireland Asset Management (BIAM) said yesterday that Mr Paul Boyne would join its investment team early in the new year.
Mr Boyne, who has been with Morgan Stanley since 1993, most recently as a senior member of the team that manages its $5 billion (€3.73 billion) global value equity portfolio, will manage global equities for the Bank of Ireland-owned company.
He is the second senior appointment made at BIAM as the company sets about rebuilding its asset management team after losing four of its top fund managers to Australia's Perpetual Trustees earlier this year.
BIAM hired Mr Ivan Fox from Irish Life Investment Managers to join its investment management team earlier this month.
A BIAM spokeswoman said yesterday that it planned to make two more senior appointments early next year along with two less senior ones.
Meanwhile, BIAM's new chief executive, Mr Kevin Dolan, has taken up his position with the group. He joins BIAM from the Paris-based LCF Rothschild Private Equity Partners group.
BIAM also confirmed yesterday that Mr David Boal, who was responsible for business development and client relationships, based in London, left the company around 10 days ago.
The staff defections and BIAM's investment performance have prompted mostly US-based clients to withdraw some €5.7 billion of investment funds in the period from March to September.
