NETg Ireland, the Limerick-based e-learning applications company, will more than double the number of its employees over the next two years, writes Eibhir Mulqueen.
The Tanaiste, Ms Harney, said the IDA-assisted jobs expansion, from 147 to 350 employees, would enhance the company's strategic position within the Harcourt General group.
"This is very much in line with the Government strategy of encouraging foreign investors to extend their existing operations in Ireland," she said.
NETg is a subsidiary of Harcourt General, a Fortune 500 company based in Boston which is quoted on the New York Stock Exchange. It develops Harcourt's technology-based training business for the corporate sector.
Meanwhile, Breakaway Solutions, the US company which acquired Irish Internet design and consultancy firm, Zartis.com, for $18 million this week, has announced it will employ 325 people at its Citywest Business Park premises. Breakaway plans to service the European market through its European Solution Centre in Dublin, which will initially be manned by Zartis.com's 40 staff.
