New booklet on pensions

The Pensions Board has added another booklet to its excellent series

The Pensions Board has added another booklet to its excellent series. This one, Securing Retirement Income is a guide to the report of the National Policy Initiative which is now with the Government and is to be the subject of considerable legislation in the next Dail term.

The guide gives a brief summary of the current level of pension coverage, the thrust of the reform strategy, and the main proposals that the board adopted after listening to the submissions. It summarises the cost factors involved in extending pensions, the radical changes for personal pension schemes (to be known as Personal Retirement Accounts or PRAs) which should simplify and demystify pension funding, and the Pensions Board's recommendations for the implementation of the proposals. Free copies of this very succinct 15-page guide is available by contacting The Pensions Board at (01) 676 2622.
