A NEW sales and distribution company has entered the mobile market.

A NEW sales and distribution company has entered the mobile market.

The Finglas based company, Sigma Wireless, is establishing Person to Person, which will be taking on an extra 23 staff to run the operation, as well as moving 10 employees, from its existing operations.

Sigma is investing £800,000 to establish Person to Person and there will also be a substantial ongoing marketing spend, according to Sigma chief executive, Mr Tony Boyle.

The company will open three retail outfits, in College Green, the Nutgrove centre in Rathfarnham and one in a yet undisclosed location on the north side of Dublin.

A five person corporate sales team will also be established to market to the business sector, along with a retail sales team and a number of arrangements to establish tied retail agents are also expected. Mr Boyle said the goal of the new company was to bring the marketing of mobile phones "onto a new level".

The electronics and telecommunications company Sigma Wireless employs 175 people in Ireland. Sigma designs and manufacturers antennae and accessories for the mobile communications market.
