Horizon Computer Group, the Irish-owned technology holding company, has completed its acquisition of Gericmar, the Dublin-based Hewlett-Packard and IBM personal computer distributor.

As a result of the acquisition, Horizon's distribution business revenue is expected to increase 37 per cent from £58 million in 1997 to more than £80 million this year.

Gericmar's merger with Horizon's existing distribution business, Clarity, will make it the largest wholly Irish-owned computer distributor.

The combined businesses will carry most of the leading brands in the industry including Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, 3Com and Apple.
