Murphy Brewery Ireland has appointed Mr Patrick Conway as commercial director, replacing Mr Padraic Liston who was recently appointed managing director.

As commercial director, Mr Conway will be responsible for the sales, distribution, customer service and co-ordinated planning management functions.

Mr Colm Crossan is the new director of finance and operations at Norkom Technologies, the Dublin-based Information Technology consultancy. He was formerly international financial controller of Visio International and prior to that worked as group financial controller with Micropal in London.

Ms Adrienne O'Sullivan has been elected to the position of president of the Insurance Institute of Ireland.

Boots, the chemist chain, has appointed Mr Nick Hudson as marketing controller for Ireland. Mr Hudson has worked with the company since 1994. He will be responsible for Boots marketing in the Republic and Northern Ireland and will be based in the company's office in Dublin.

Waterford Crystal has appointed Ms Mary Dorgan as resourcing and development manager. Ms Dorgan joins the company from FAS where she was regional director for the southeast. Previously she held several senior management positions at FAS, AnCO, Vecta International Clothing and Dataproducts.

Gilbeys Ireland has appointed Mr John Gilmore as its first allIreland commercial director. The creation of the new position follows the merger between Grand Metropolitan, which owns Gilbeys, and Guinness earlier this year.

Mr Liam Hickey becomes new business account manager at JBA Ireland with responsibility for electronics and engineering software solutions. Mr Hickey was previously marketing manager with Teradyne Ireland.

Mr Richard Barraclough has been appointed financial director of Solvay Healthcare Ireland. He succeeds Mr Mike Boote who has held the position for three years and is now retiring.

Lionbridge Technologies has expanded its business development team with two senior appointments. Ms Helena Walsh will lead the new team and Mr Tom Spel, joining from Sykes, also becomes a member. He has extensive experience in the software localisation business and has previously worked with Gecap and Microsoft in Dublin.

Ms Carol Fanagan is the new head of business planning and research with Eircell. She joins after working for 10 years with Lansdowne Market Research, four of them spent as a board director.
