investment programme. It will double the employment from 52 to 105 at its

Rossdowney plant.

The Northern Ireland Development Board (IDB) has provided funds of £

1.5 million towards the investment. The investment will go on new technology, increased capacity and on marketing, said Golden Vale's executive director, Mr

Liam Mackessy.

St Brendan's turnover has trebled since 1992 and should reach £11

million this year.

In a separate development, E & I Engineering announced a £1.5 million investment programme which is planned to increase employment by 43 over three years.

Mr Philip O'Doherty, E & I's managing director, said the investment should increase sales by 80 per cent over three years. He set up the company in 1986.

It manufactures switchgear, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment and employs 98 people.
