Norwich Irish Building Society has said that it will enter into detailed discussions on the transfer of its business to EBS Building Society.

Norwich Irish announced in October that it was considering options for the long-term future of the society and invited the three Irish mutual building societies and the Bank of Ireland-owned ICS to make bids for it.

After considering a number of proposals, Norwich Irish said it had decided to proceed with due diligence and detailed discussions with EBS on the transfer of its business and terms for its staff and members.
