BORD na Mona chairman, Mr, Pat Dineen, has written to the group's managing director, Dr Eddie O'Connor, asking him to meet consultants Price, Waterhouse.
The consultants are trying to finalise a report on Dr O'Connor's remuneration package over the nine years he has been managing director of Bord na Mona.
The adjournment of last Thursday's board meeting and the postponement of the meeting planned for yesterday were to allow for a meeting between the consultants and Dr O'Connor.
It is understood Dr O'Connor and the consultants have not yet met to examine some of the payments made to the managing director over the nine year period. Dr O'Connor would not comment yesterday on whether he would meet the accountants.
It is understood the consultants will present a final report to the board on Friday, whether or not they have met Dr O'Connor. He maintains the draft report prepared by the consultants was "fundamentally flawed" on the grounds that the inclusion of his business expenses was beyond the report's terms of reference.
However, the board and the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications, Mr Lowry, are understood to be happy the report is within the terms of reference set for the consultants.
When the board commissioned the second report it extended the terms of the investigation into the remuneration of the managing director, as well as asking for the study to take in Dr O'Connor's full nine year term rather than the tree year rem it of the first report.
