South Wharf, the company formerly known as Ardagh, announced an operating loss of €1.4 million for the first six months of the year and said it was still awaiting a legal decision on a change of use of its warehousing facilities in Ringsend.
The company, which was left over after its glass-making operations were spun off in 2003, said turnover came to €0.5 million, down from €1.8 million a year earlier, reflecting the run down of stocks produced by Irish Glass.
Its pre-tax loss narrowed to €1.2 million from €2.2 million while the loss per share fell to 3.52 cent from 6.23 cent.
The company is still awaiting a decision following a reserved High Court judgment regarding its legal action against Dublin Port Company over the right to obtain a change of use in relation to the substantial warehousing facilities at Ringsend.
