Palm Computing, a division of 3Com, has launched additions to its handheld computer range with the Palm V and Palm IIIx electronic organisers. The Palm V, targeted at mobile workers and executives, will sell for around £415 (€527). The new unit, code-named Razor, measures about four-and-a-half inches by three inches and many of the bulky buttons and dials have been replaced with software-based functions including an on-screen contrast control. It weighs about four ounces and uses an internal rechargeable battery which, the company says, can be fully charged within three hours and can operate for "up to a month with normal use".
