German shares ended bourse trade lower dragged down after a disappointing M3 money supply report undermined hopes for another cut in interest rates. The index extended its losses in post bourse IBIS computer dealings, ending the day at 2532.22. The market changed direction after a good start when the Bundesbank reported M3 rose by an annualised 10.5 per cent ink May, against expectations of seven to 10 per cent.

CAC-40 2077.08 (-23.62)

French stocks suffered the worst of the major markets, closing more than 1 per cent lower in a fall sparked by the German data. The blue chip CAC-40 index ended 23.62 points weaker, or 1.12 per cent down, at 2,077.08. The CAC40 futures contract ended at 2,068.5, down 27.5.
