Dr Jim Mountjoy has been appointed to the board of Duolog Technologies, a new Irish-owned, high-tech company specialising in third-generation wireless communications. Dr Mountjoy is founder and chief executive of Euristix, which was acquired by Fore Systems and subsequently Marconi plc.
Recruitment website, Irishjobs.ie, has appointed Ms Debbie O'Halloran as its online writer. Ms O'Halloran will be responsible for developing and managing the content of the Irishjobs column.
Celestica Ireland, a leading provider of electronic manufacturing services, has appointed Ms Lorna Byrne as human resources manager. Prior to this appointment, Ms Byrne worked with Celestica as its training and development manager.
Mr Philip Brown has been promoted to sales director of transit and all small static formats at TDI, the outdoor media contractor. Mr Brown has more than 12 years' experience in media sales, having joined TDI five years ago from Independent Newspapers. Also at TDI, Ms Nikki Pelley has been promoted to account manager for Shoppelites, its small format advertising.
Mr Martin Nolan has been elected chairman of the Irish Association of Investment Managers (IAIM). Mr Nolan, who is director of strategy and process at Hibernian Investment Managers, has previously chaired the IAIM capital markets committee and the IAIM equities committee. He has been a member of the management committee since 1998.
The Marketing Society has appointed Mr Liam Fitzgerald as chairman and Mr Gerard O'Neill as vice-chairman. Mr Fitzgerald is a main board director and chief executive designate of United Drug. Mr O'Neill is managing director of Amarach Consulting.
Vision Consulting, the international e-business and technology company, has appointed Mr Rob Paddon as business development director. Mr Paddon has more than 14 years' experience in a variety of leading international IT companies, including Logica plc and the Gartner Group, where he was responsible for establishing and developing the Irish subsidiary.
Mr Damian Cranney has joined bradley mcgurk, the branding and design consultancy, in the new position of senior design manager. Murphy Brewery has appointed Mr Richard Bradbury as national sales manager. It has also appointed Mr Barry Sheehan as national key account manager. Mr Steven Donohoe has been appointed key account manager off-trade at the brewery.
