Four appointments have been made to the management team at the Herbert Park Hotel in Ballsbridge, Co Dublin. Ms Ilse Zweegers has been named as marketing manager after leaving her position as assistant project manager with ABN AMRO Bank in the IFSC.
Ms Margaret Clapham is the new corporate sales manager. She held the same position with the Westbury Hotel. Mr James Linton is the new head chef and Mr Joe Domingues as restaurant manager will be responsible for the Pavilion Restaurant.
Mr Tommy Murray, chairman of the UDV Ireland Group, (formerly Gilbeys of Ireland Group) has been appointed acting president for UDV's operations in North America with effect from July 1st. Mr Murray will continue in his role as chairman of UDV Ireland Group and he has appointed Mr Pat Given as acting managing director of UDV Operations Ireland.
Mr Michael Carter-Smith is to head TV3's British sales team, Laser. Mr Smith has worked with RTE for 15 years and will now be taking up the position of sales controller.
NZI Life, the Galway-based life assurance company, has appointed Mr Brian McNiff and Mr John Gibson as non-executive directors. Mr McNiff, a hotelier, managed the Donegal gaelic football team when they won the All Ireland title in 1992. Mr Gibson spent nine years as chief executive of Friends Provident.
The Turf Club and the Irish National Hunt and Steeplechase Committee (INHSC) have appointed two new stewards. Mr Ray Rooney is a prominent Galway businessman in the property and insurance industries. Mr Edward Flannery, is the owner of Egmont Stud and has been a member of the INHSC sine 1993.
Mr Eoin Gilley is the new managing director of Artesyn Technologies Europe, based in Youghal, Co Cork. He succeeds Mr Gary Duffy, a director of IDA Ireland, who is leaving to pursue personal interests, although he will maintain a consultancy arrangement with the company. Mr David Graham is the new managing director of Tegral, the Dublin-based tile company. ProStep, the recruitment and training consultants, has appointed Mr Andrew Dignam as senior recruitment consultant with responsibility for manufacturing, engineering and IT.
Lotus Development, based in Santry, has appointed Mr Tommy Drummond as business development manager for Ireland. Mr Drummond has worked with Lotus as operations manager for central europe for the last two years.
Mr Sean Healy is new corporate leisure manager of Lee Travel. Mr Healy has spent the last 21 years working in the travel industry in Dublin.
IMS Labels, the Dublin-based self adhesive labelling and systems company, has made three appointments. Ms Bernie Giles and Mr Ken Brady have joined the customer service department, while Mr Brendan Garvey has joined the service department.
