Trintech, the supplier of electronic payment solutions, has appointed several new executives to its growing US operation.

Mr Tony Tyson is to head Trintech's North American sales team. Prior to joining Trintech he spent three years with Netscape Communications.

Mr Barry Nolan is the new group marketing director, after leaving a position with Waterford Wedgwood, where he had marketing responsibility for brands in all world markets.

On the east coast, Trintech has appointed Mr Kayode Owens as director of strategic initiatives. Prior to joining the company he was senior manager of business development for American Express Electronic Commerce Group.

Mr Denis Lynch has become business development manager where he will investigate new business opportunities for Trintech. Mr Leo Ring is to head Trintech's strategic business development unit. He has worked for the last five years with Microsoft in the Republic.

The MBA association, the representative group for graduates holding master degree programmes in business administration, has elected Mr Denis McCarthy as its new president.

Mr McCarthy is a manager with Intercontinental Bank and was previously an executive with the ESB.

Irish Shell has appointed four new directors to its board. These are new positions on the board and the four hold senior management positions within the company.

The directors are Mr Richard Walsh, who holds the position of commercial manager; Mr John McDonagh, who has held the position of retail manager since August 1997; Mr Paul Barrington, who is supply and distribution manager and Mr Alan McClean who is financial manager.

The Marlborough Group has opened an office in Sligo which will service clients in the northwest region. The branch manager for Sligo is Ms Marianne Noctor, who has 10 years experience in the recruitment industry.

Mr Gary Tierney has become distribution manager for the commercial channel organisation at Hewlett-Packard Ireland. Mr Tierney joined the company in 1989. CK Business Electronics, the information technology reseller, has appointed Mr Barney Keegan as manager of its east region branch in Blackrock, Co Dublin. Mr Keegan has been involved in the design of major online networks for the National Lottery, GPA, Power Supermarkets and the Department of Social Welfare.

The Open University Business School has appointed Mr Lesley McCauley as regional manager for Ireland. Mr McCauley joined the school in 1996 from Norish plc, where he was founder director and chief executive.

The Open University offers Irish managers various learning programmes. Since opening in 1990, more than 3,000 Irish managers have undertaken Open University courses.

Anthony Reddy Associates, the architectural practice, has appointed two new directors, Mr Brian O'Neill and Mr Ronan Smith.
