Prudential Europe has appointed Mr Ciaran McGettrick finance director. Mr McGettrick is a certified accountant.
Dr Paul F de V Cluver has been co-opted as a director of Fyffes. Dr Cluver is chairman of Capespan Group Holdings in which Fyffes recently acquired a 10 per cent shareholding.
Mr Peter Madden has been appointed group product manager of Punch, the Cork-based producer of shoecare products. He joins the company from Dairygold CMP where he was market development manager.
Mr Hugh Harkin has been appointed chief executive of Vantage Wholesale, the wholesalers and Mace franchise holders. Mr Harkin previously worked as general manager, strategic developments, of Glanbia. Prior to that, he worked for Avonmore. He is a director of the National Dairy Council, a board member of the National Milk Agency, a council member of the Coceral in Brussels, and a member of the EC Grain Advisory Committee.
Ms Caroline Bergin has been appointed deputy group secretary and solicitor of Greencore Group. She has worked for Greencore since 1991 and was previously employed by A&L Goodbody, solicitors. Mr Alan Mills has been appointed assistant group secretary of the group. He previously worked for the Bank of Bermuda's Irish subsidiary, Management International (Dublin), where he was corporate secretarial manager.
Teagasc, the agriculture and food development authority, has appointed Dr Jim Roche director of research. Dr Roche is currently professor of animal husbandry at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, UCD.
Brown Thomas has appointed Mr Duncan Graham general manger of the group's Dublin store. He was previously regional food manager, Ireland, for Marks & Spencer.
Ms Niamh Moore has been appointed managing director at Dimension, the brand communications agency, having joined the company last year as head of client service. She was previously with Young Advertising, Des O'Meara's and Partners and Wilson Hartnell and established her own events management company GEM.
The board of Dublin Cemeteries Committee has announced two new appointments: Mr George McCullough has been appointed chief executive and Mr John Kinahan assistant chief executive. A native of Belfast, Mr McCullough is a horticulturist and joined Dublin Cemeteries Committee as general manager in 1987. Mr Kinahan, an accountant, has been secretary for 10 years.
Eircell has appointed Ms Joan Keating external communications manager. She previously worked as a press officer for Fianna Fail and, prior to that, as a public relations officer with the Belltable Arts Centre in Limerick.
Ms Martina Byrne has been appointed manager, public affairs and public relations, for Statoil Ireland and Statoil Exploration (Ireland). Previously, Ms Byrne was a director of Wilson Hartnell Public Relations.
Mr Mervyn O'Callaghan has been appointed financial director of The Carphone Warehouse, the mobile telephone retailers. A certified accountant, he previously worked for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.
Accuris, the telecoms software and services company, has appointed Mr Declan Kavanagh chief executive. Mr Kavanagh joined Accuris from DMR Consulting (formerly Amdahl Ireland) where he held a number of senior positions.
