Golden Vale has announced the appointment of Mr Ciaran Mulgrew as managing director of Saint Brendan's Irish Cream Liqueur Co Ltd, its Derry-based drinks subsidiary. Mr Mulgrew has also been appointed to the board of St Brendan's.

Management consultants Hewitt Associates has strengthened its operations in Ireland with two senior appointments. Mr Aidan Lambe has been appointed pensions administration manager. Mr Gerry Armstrong has been appointed senior pensions and benefits consultant, responsible for advising multinational companies locating in the Republic.

Ms Orla Power has been appointed channel marketing manager at WorldCom Ireland, with responsibility for marketing activities to corporate and SME markets. Ms Power joins WorldCom from LM Ericcson Ltd, where she was marketing and communications manager for consumer products.

Ms Brenda Murphy has been promoted to assistant director of sales at the Radisson SAS St Helen's Hotel in Dublin.

Several appointments have been announced at Woodgrange Technologies in relation to its Careers World product, which allows users to develop personal career plans. Ms Margaret Considine has been appointed general manager for Careers World, while Mr Neil Kelly has joined as project manager. Mr Shane Diffily has been recruited as web publisher with the Careersworld.com team.

Prior Communications, which specialises in corporate and consumer public relations, has promoted Ms Fiona Walsh to account director. Ms Walsh joined the company in 1996 as an account executive.

Three new appointments have been made to the board of directors of The McConnells Group. They include: Ms Margaret Gilsenan, who joined McConnells as a research assistant in 1990 and is now a planning director; Mr Padraig Burns, who has been an account director with McConnells Advertising for the past six years; and Mr Garrett Kinsella, who joined the company in 1992 and is currently an account director with McConnells Advertising.
