Macalla Software has strengthened its senior business development team with two new appointments

Macalla Software has strengthened its senior business development team with two new appointments. Mr Patrick Kinsella has been appointed director of international channels and will be responsible for creating, managing and developing Macalla's channel and commercial partner business worldwide. Mr Karl Jordan becomes director of strategic accounts with responsibility for developing and managing Macalla's OEM and VAR business globally.

Eurosync Technologies has announced a number of new appointments. Mr Micheal Murtagh, a co-founder of the company, has been made financial director, while Ms Sarah- Jane Travers has been appointed marketing executive. Mr Derek Leahy joins the company as technical executive.

A new business development manager has been appointed to the testing division of IT Alliance Group. Mr Philip Julian will spearhead the group's drive into the financial services market.

Mr Denis Creighton has been promoted to chief operations officer at Conduit. He joined the company in February 2001, having previously worked with Eircom and Eircell.

Mr Hubert Fitzpatrick has been appointed manager of the local government unit of A&L Goodbody Consulting. Mr Fitzpatrick has more than 20 years' experience within the local authority sector and was the acting manager for Wicklow County Council.

Osborne Recruitment has appointed Ms Sam Coventry as manager of its sales and marketing division.

Dr Alma Lydon has joined the healthcare unit of Wilson Hartnell Public Relations as an account manager, where she will handle a number of health and nutrition clients, including GlaxoSmithKline, Flora, Lyons Tea and Birds Eye.

Seven Seas Ireland has named Ms Caroline Farrell as its new assistant product manager. She was previously with GlaxoSmithKline.

Mr Michael McCaffrey has recently been appointed senior sales consultant at Celerity, with special responsibility for its OnLine Trader product.

As part of its ongoing expansion programme, Connect Electronics has made two senior appointments. Dr Robert Bohan becomes sales and operations manager of Notebook Express Ireland, a subsidiary of Connect Electronics, while Ms Susan Whyte becomes group marketing manager for Connect Electronics.

Standard Life recently announced that Mr Scott Bell, group managing director, will retire on March 15th, 2002, and Mr Jim Stretton, chief executive of UK operations, has chosen to retire early on December 15th, 2001. The board has appointed Mr Iain Lumsden as group chief executive and Mr Sandy Crombie as deputy group chief executive. Both appointments will take effect on March 16th, 2002.

Mr Colm O'Callaghan has been named director of food and beverage for the New York Palace Hotel. Mr O'Callaghan will oversee a team of 325 managers and employees, and will be responsible for the in-house dining, beverage and catering operations at the hotel.

Software Resources has strengthened its client consultancy business with a number of senior appointments. As senior consultant, Mr Brian Linnane will take a lead role in implementing large-scale enterprise resource-planning solutions in customer sites. Mr Alan Lawlor assumes the newly created role of principal consultant, where his role will include matching the capabilities of software to clients' needs.

Mr Neil Ford has been promoted to finance director at PJ Carroll & Company. Mr Ford joined PJ Carroll as marketing finance manager in January 1999 from Allied Domecq in the Czech Republic, where he was finance and administration director.

Mr Tony Bourke has been appointed managing director of The Computer Learning Centre, where his role will be to increase turnover by 100 per cent over the next two years, raise the volume of outsourced IT training, increase e-learning sales and expand the company's profile in international markets.

3Com Ireland has announced that it has appointed Mr Stefan Callery as business development manager for Ireland, where he will be responsible for all of the company's technical sales, services and partner training and design activities in Ireland, north and south.
