KPMG has strengthened its Dublin operation with the appointment of three new partners. Mr Keith Browne has been appointed partner in the corporate finance division, specialising in merger and acquisition activity. Mr Niall Campbell has been appointed partner in the tax division with responsibility for indirect taxes. Mr Campbell is the first specialist indirect taxes partner appointed by KPMG Ireland. Ms Laura Gallagher has been appointed partner in the assurance division.
Network365 has appointed Ms Evanna Kearins as marketing communications manager. Formerly international public relations manager with Baltimore Technologies, Ms Kearins will be responsible for developing and executing Network365's global marketing and public relations strategy. A graduate of DCU with an honours degree in communications and a Master's degree in journalism, Ms Kearins previously worked as a news reporter for Today FM, reporting on criminal, political and industrial relations issues.
Mr Stuart Draper has been appointed head of research at Dolmen Butler Briscoe Stockbrokers, having worked as the equity analyst with responsibility for the banking, insurance, property, hotel and utility sectors for the past two years. Mr Draper qualified as a chartered accountant at KPMG and has a Master's degree in accounting from UCD and a joint honours degree in business studies and economics from Trinity College Dublin.
Friends First has appointed Mr John O'Dwyer as managing director of its life division. Mr O'Dwyer joins Friends First from BUPA Ireland, where he was director of operations. Prior to that he was assistant chief executive at the VHI.
Mr Keith Quigley has been appointed general manager of Moffet Engineering, responsible for the company's business activities worldwide. Mr Quigley joined Moffet Engineering as financial director in 1997 from Powerscreen Limited. He is a chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland.
Mr Ivan Pilny has joined Irish-based central European telecommunications provider eTel Group as managing director of its Czech subsidiary. Mr Pilny, who was chairman of the Czech state telephone company, Czech Telecom, will be responsible for leading eTel's Czech business on a daily basis and will take up his new position at the end of November.
Text 100 International Public Relations has promoted Ms Colette Holmes and Ms Niamh Boylan to consultants at its Dublin office. Ms Holmes, who holds an honours BA degree in English and Spanish from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and a Master's in public relations from Dublin Institute of Technology, has been working with Text 100 since August 2000, with clients that include EMC, BETDAQ and Software Resources.
Ms Boylan, who holds an honours BA degree in English and music from UCD and a PRII diploma in public relations, works with a number of technology clients, including Computer Associates, TeleCity, Xnet and eWare.
Thomas Crosbie Holdings has announced the appointment of Mr Patrick Kierans as group marketing manager. Mr Kierans, who will have overall responsibility for all marketing activity with the Thomas Crosbie Holdings group, worked as the marketing manager of Bulmers for the past six years.
Prior to that, he was responsible for marketing at British-based food company Patak's.
Mr Mick Dawson has joined the Leinster Branch of the IRFU as chief executive. Mr Dawson has spent the past 20 years at Davy Stockbrokers, where he worked on the institutional government bond desk.
Banking and financial software developer KBS Solutions has appointed Mr Brian Hoey, Mr Seamus McConnon, Mr Scott Keehan and Ms Michelle Derwin to its growing team. They will be responsible for the ongoing support, development and maintenance of the company's flagship product, KBS Banking.
Mr John P.H. O'Reilly is to retire as managing director of HJ Heinz Ireland Limited from the end of January 2002. He will then be appointed non-executive chairman of the company. Mr Joe Mohan will become business director and Mr Luigi Rea will become sales director of Heinz Ireland from February 1st. Mr Mohan is currently financial controller of the company and Mr Rea is sales manager.
Five senior appointments have been made at Hibernia Foods following a period of restructuring at the company. A new UK chief executive, Mr Christopher Peters, joins from Geest, while Mr Robin Frew joins Hibernia as a general manager after running his own interim management consultancy.
Mr Tony Hitchin, a former board member of RHM, becomes the general manager responsible for Hibernia's Sara Lee branded desserts. Mr Peter Franks, currently retail sales director, becomes general manager responsible for the private-label desserts division, while Mr James Conway becomes general manager responsible for food service desserts.
