THE Margin usually associates girlie-type advertisements with cars and motor bikes, and not with a product as innocuous as mineral water. Perrier, however, has managed to fall foul of the anti-sexism movement.

The venerable Perrier has now been threatened with a boycott by the European Women's Lobby for an advertising campaign that the lobby considers sexist. The lobby is enraged about billboards that have appeared across Brussels featuring three naked women with Perrier bottlecaps on their nipples.

The Publicis ad agency responsible for the Perrier campaign is unfazed by the opposition of the women's lobby with Philippe Halluent, who is managing the campaign for Publicis, saying he could not understand what all the fuss was about.
