Legal proceedings by businessman Mr Pascal Phelan against beef baron Mr Larry Goodman and Mr Phelan's former partner in Master Meat Packers Ltd Mr Zakaria el Taher, have been adjourned at the High Court to June 13th.

Mr James Salafia SC, for Mr Phelan, continued his opening on the 11th day of the hearing yesterday. The opening, which is expected to last another few days, will be followed by an address by Mr Dermot Gleeson SC, for Mr Goodman. Evidence will then follow.

The case, being heard by Mr Justice Murphy, is expected to last several months.

Mr Phelan claims there was a conspiracy between both defendants and others to force him out of the Master Meat Packers Group in the 1980s. There are other actions in which claim and counter-claim regarding the company's affairs are being made.
