Up to 200 new jobs are expected to be created at Procter & Gamble's Nenagh plant as a result of the company's decision to close its facility at Wakefield in England and transfer operations to Co Tipperary.
A spokeswoman for the giant multinational cosmetic company, Ms Marion Baker, said yesterday that an ongoing feasibility study involving both plants had revealed that Nenagh was the more viable.
Three hundred and eighty jobs will be lost in Wakefield.
Procter & Gamble is the largest employer in Nenagh, with a workforce of close to 400.
