Computer Associates (CA), the world's third largest software company, yesterday reported a 32 per cent jump in revenues for the financial quarter to the end of September. The company said revenue was $1.6 billion (€1.48 billion), compared to the $1.2 billion reported for the 1998 quarter. Net profits rose more than 14 per cent to $335 million (€310 million).

The company, which plans to increase its workforce in the Republic from 40 to around 400, said an "explosive worldwide growth in e-business activity" drove the jump in volume.
