Management consultant, Prospectus, which specialises in business strategy, has announced several new appointments.

They include Ms Denise Reid, who joins as a senior consultant, after leaving KPMG in Belfast, Ms Amanda Fennell, who takes up a post as marketing executive after previously working with Siemens and Gateway 2000, and two new consultants, Ms Sarah Thorn- ton and Ms Deirdre O'Mara.

Two non-executive directors have been appointed to the company's board. They are Mr Sean Donnelly, former director of the IDA and Forbairt and Mr Rick Peel, who is a managing partner of the COBA group, the international network of consulting firms.

Mr Tom O'Connor has been promoted to the position of manager with the company.

Telecom Eireann has appointed Mr Des McLoughlin as head of information age projects.

Mr McLoughlin will be responsible for managing the transformation of Ennis into Ireland's first information age town.

This will also involve overseeing Telecom's £10 million investment in technology for every school in Ireland and developing community access centres in the 46 towns which entered the "information age" town competition.

Mr McLoughlin has held several positions with Telecom Eireann, including senior vice-president for north America and head of product development.

Stratus Computers Ireland, the computer applications manufacturer, has named Mr Mike Devane as director of manufacturing engineering worldwide.

The company has also appointed Mr John Barrett as director of human resources for worldwide manufacturing.

Mr John O'Hehir has been appointed group director of human resources at An Post. Mr O'Hehir is leaving his position as head of human resources, quality and change at British Telecom.

He previously held the position of strategic human resources manager with the ESB, where he was involved in the development of the cost and competitiveness plan.

Mr Richard Okumoto has been appointed as CBT Group's vice president of finance and chief financial officer.

Mr Okumoto is leaving his position as executive vice president and chief financial officer with Credence Systems Corp, the manufacturer of automatic test equipment.

Mr Barry O'Dwyer has been appointed actuarial manager by Standard Life Assurance. Mr O'Dwyer has been based in Standard Life's Edinburgh office for the past five years, where he was assistant marketing manager.

Mr Bernard Farrell has been appointed general manager Scotland for the Cargo Division of Servisair, the largest independent ground handling company in Europe. Mr Farrell's new appointment is in addition to his responsibilities as general manager for Servisair, Ireland.

Mr Michael Waterson has been appointed as head of Barclays Bank's operations in the International Financial Services Centre.
