City dwellers unfamiliar with cleaning their own bathrooms may be shaken by the news that Hassle. com, dubbed "a Hailo for cleaners", is to hike up its prices.
From Thursday May 19th, the on-demand cleaning service will increase its hourly rate from €12 to € 13.90 for weekly and fortnightly bookings, and € 15.90 for one-off bookings. Where a regular cleaner is away or ill, customers will pay the lower, repeat rate for their replacement. Cleaners working for the service will also get a pay rise, up from €10 an hour to €11.
“Changing the price will allow us to recruit more cleaners and make our service even better,” the company said.
Since launching in Dublin in July 2014, over 18,000 people have used the Hassle.com service, which is also now live in Cork. Due to demand, the service is set to “ramp up” cleaner recruitment, allowing it to cover a greater area.
Founded by Kildare woman Jules Coleman, the start-up was sold to German company Helpling last year for a reported € 32 million.
