John Curley group:The fashion retailing arm of the John Curley group recorded losses of €724,159 last year and owes €282,682 to the Revenue Commissioners, new accounts show.

Born Clothing Ltd operates six stores, including two in Galway city and others located at Tuam, Athlone, Thurles and Portlaoise.

New accounts for the firm – which employs 80 after opening up its Portlaoise store earlier this year – show that the firm’s accumulated losses at the end of August 31st last stood at €723,859.

Last week, it emerged that Grant Thornton was appointed by Ulster Bank as receiver to a connected company, Curley Furniture Carpets Ltd.

The furniture retail firm – which employed 45 – operated three stores in Galway, Kilkenny and Ennis and had debts of €8.6 million at the end of March 2010, according to its most recently filed accounts.
