Betting giant Paddy Power has bought nine shops from Hackett’s Bookmakers as part of an expansion drive.

The shops, located in Dublin, Limerick, Offaly and Tipperary, will be rebranded and refit as Paddy Power in the new year.

Four of the outlets are in Dublin, two are in Limerick, and the others are located in Templemore, Clonmel and Tullamore.

The latest purchase brings Paddy Power’s outlets in the Republic of Ireland to 232.

Last March, the company unveiled a new modern look for their retail operation when they opened a flagship shop in Stillorgan, which incorporated a range of betting technology, including a premium audio-visual experience, enhanced racing content and mobile tablets.
