THE software company Computer Associates Ireland has signed a multi-year contract with the Revenue Commissioners to help integrate the Republic's tax collection and accounting system, the firm said last night. The actual value of the contract was not released, but a spokesman described it as "a multi-million pound deal over more than five years".
The Revenue Commissioners plan to consolidate all taxation information for any single company or individual. The new system, known as Active Intervention Management, will facilitate a pro-active approach to non-compliance and a more rapid pursuit of large tax liability, the spokesman added.
