RUSSIAN plane-maker Yakovlev said yesterday it still wanted to bud bankrupt Dutch plane manufacturer Fokker and would do so without government backing.

Last year Ynkovlev asked the government for financial guarantees for the deal which it estimates could cost $200-270 million: (£126.5-£170 million).
