In our leading article on July 18th "Questions for the Committee", statements were made concerning the Board of Bord na Mona of whom the above named are members.

These statements wrongly impugned the professionalism and integrity of Sean Burke, Gerard Callanan and Anne Counihan and The Irish Times accepts that these statements were wholly unjustified and without foundation.

The Irish Times unreservedly apologises to them for the distress and embarrassment caused.
