In a Cantillon column last week, it was stated that “BearingPoint received payments of €3.3 million in relation to consultancy on the fingerprint system, although the initial agreed price was €151,250”.

BearingPoint agreed an initial price of €151,250 for consultancy work in procuring a prime contractor to provide the automated fingerprint identification system (Afis).

It subsequently successfully tendered for a separate contract to provide technical advice to the Garda Síochána during the implementation period for the Afis project. The €3.3 million was the total for the two tenders.
