Irish travel software firm Datalex has appointed Aidan Brogan as its interim chief executive officer following the resignation of Cormac Whelan from the post.

Mr Brogan is currently the senior vice-president of sales at the company, having joined Datalex in 1994. He previously held positions with Westinghouse in its airline and travel business in the Middle East.

In a statement yesterday the company said Mr Whelan was leaving the chief executive post “by mutual and amicable agreement”. He will stay on until the end of next month to assist the company in the transition.

Mr Whelan has been chief executive since 2004.
