BUSINESS GROUP Ibec has announced a strategic alliance with the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) to offer a range of accredited courses to business managers and employers.
The courses will be built around case studies of real companies, giving managers the practical skills they need to drive their business, according to Ibec, which represents businesses and employers.
A diploma in employment law, a diploma in management, a certificate in human resources and a certificate in industrial relations are among the programmes offered.
“The courses are aimed at Ibec members, which are mainly larger companies. For example, managers could upskill in commercial law,” said Jenny Hayes, head of management training at Ibec.
The programmes will lead to certain exemptions from DIT degree courses, including the bachelor of business studies, the BSc in business and legal studies and the BSc in human resource management.
“A critical topic emerging is how companies can become better at bringing people up to speed quickly, developing people faster and empowering them. We believe that accredited, high-quality training and development holds one of the keys to this,” Ibec said.
