Shannon area gets 350 jobs

THIRTEEN companies will create 350 jobs in Clare, Tipperary and Limerick over the next three years.

THIRTEEN companies will create 350 jobs in Clare, Tipperary and Limerick over the next three years.

The jobs will come in both foreign and indigenous groups and comprise both start ups and expansions.

The start up companies are: Tekelek Europe, which will create 18 jobs in Shannon in the manufacture of electronic control products; Mirabilis, which will create 18 jobs in Shannon in multi media services; MJM Manufacturing which will create 77 electronics jobs in Nenagh, Co Tipperary and Greenville, which will create 27 jobs in Roscrea in the manufacture of food products.

Four of the expanding companies are in Shannon.

They are Cabletron Systems, which is creating 58 additional jobs in product repair; Jetphone, which will have 18 new jobs in airline telephony; Phoenix Shannon, which will fill six additional financial services jobs; and Shannon Aircraft Motorworks, which will create 18 jobs in aerospace services.

Outside the Shannon area, Irema Ireland will add 15 jobs in Kilmallock, Co Limerick and Galtee Wood and Veneer will create 50 jobs in Ballylanders, Co Limerick.

In Limerick city, Shannon Minerals will create 11 additional jobs in flavoured mineral waters, M&M Walsh will add 12 jobs in food products and OMC Engineering will have 20 jobs in engineering.
