Norwich Union and CGU shareholders should have received documentation relating to the proposed merger last week. Documentation was posted separately to Norwich Union shareholders, PEP and Isa holders, share account holders and employee shareholders. CGU also sent documentation to shareholders last week. Both packages should include a merger summary booklet, a circular with full details and proxy/voting forms.

Extraordinary general meeting proxy/voting forms must be returned to Norwich Union by 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29th. This deadline applies to holders of Norwich Union shares with share certificates and those whose shares are held through the Norwich Union Share Account. CGU must receive proxy/voting forms by 2 p.m. on the same date.

Two days later the companies plan to hold their respective shareholder meetings. Norwich Union's takes place at 10.30 a.m. on Friday, March 31st and CGU's at 2 p.m. The expected date of merger completion is early June.
