IRISH bank annual general meetings tend to be noisy enough affairs, but not perhaps as lively as Lloyds TSB in Edinburgh yesterday. Streakers disrupted the first a.g.m. of Lloyds TSB bank demanding it cancels its Third World debt.
Nine naked protesters six women and three men were removed by security guards from the meeting at Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
All are Lloyds TSB shareholders which means they can attend the agm. One of the strippers, Jo Bird (25), said it was a bid to highlight their campaign to persuade Lloyds TSB to cancel its Third World debt which she said stood at £1.9 billion and last year made the organisation £50 million profit.
The strippers had various slogans painted on their bodies including "Expose the Naked Truth" and "This is my ethical streak what is yours?"
