Compass Group, the world's biggest contract catering company, yesterday completed the sale of the Le Meridien hotel chain, including Dublin's landmark Shelbourne Hotel, to Nomura International, the principal finance arm of the Japanese bank, for £1.9 billion sterling (#3.1 billion).
