Sherry Fitzgerald, one of Ireland's largest auctioneering and estate agents has announced the appointment of Mr Gerry Murphy (left) as a non-executive director of the company.

Mr Murphy (43) has 25 years experience in the financial services sector, 17 of them with Bank of Ireland, and was a member of the board of the First National Building Society until September 1997. Born in Cork, he is a director of Nitrigin Eireann Teo (NET) and chairman of Guaranteed Irish.
