Siemens Information and Communication Mobile (IC Mobile) has made a $2 million investment in Followap, a provider of instant messaging presence and location solutions for mobile operators, including Eircell.

In addition to this investment - made through Siemens' corporate venture arm Mustang Ventures - the company has established a commercial partnership with Followap.

Siemens will integrate its flagship product, iFollow, into IC Mobile's existing and future mobile offerings. The iFollow product, became one of the world's first commercially installed instant messaging presence and location platforms in December 2000, when it was launched by Eircell.
