Baltimore Technologies has won a contract to supply the certification arm of Singapore's postal system with encryption software.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed, but Baltimore claims it will give the company a significant foothold in the Asian market. This is because its product will now be deployed by ID.Safe, a joint venture between Singapore's commercial and industrial security corporation, and Singapore post.
ID.Safe was established in Singapore as a digital certificate authority for organisations and individuals. Singapore is leading the global field in the adoption of PKI security software, and Baltimore plans to use this contract as a platform to penetrate government, financial and e-commerce networks in the region.
