Jefferson Smurfit Group will brief investors today on US investors' perceptions of the group, and to provide a medium-term perspective on industry conditions.
The briefing will be attended by Smurfit chairman and chief executive Dr Michael Smurfit. Some sources said last night that the briefing's timing was unusual. The group holds it annual general meeting in Dublin on Friday and at least two institutions are to vote against the re-election of five directors in protest at Dr Smurfit's €6.6 million (£5.2 million) pay package.
