TCL Telecom, the provider of long distance telecommunications services, has completed the first phase of its Dublin City Fibre Optic Network.

TCL Telecom began construction of the network in July of this year and in the coming months will roll out the remaining 25 kilometres at a cost of approximately £10 million.

The first phase links the IFSC to the company's international switching centre.

According to the company, the network will cover the main business areas of the city, where the majority of their customers are located.

"This network allows TCL Telecom utilise its own infrastructure for the delivery of telecommunications services, reducing the exorbitant costs and long delays in receiving leased lines from Telecom Eireann," said a spokesman.
