A new social network aimed at families is planning to branch out into the print industry, providing families with paper journals of their memories.
Cork-based Tweekaboo, a private social network for sharing photos and memories with family, was founded by Eugene Murphy. He describes Tweekaboo as a "quiet place" that allows parents to document their children's lives through text, photo and video.
“I realised that the real story, the best part of our children’s lives, are the moments that we share,” he says. “They drive you crazy for 12 hours a day and for 20 minutes they will crack you up. That’s what parenting is.”
The company now has customers in about 100 countries and recently raised $800,000 in funding. It plans to develop its mobile and cloud platforms further, expand into the US and Asia and introduce print products created from families’ digital memories.
