E-LEARNING:Irish educational publisher Folens is to create 25 new jobs as it sets up high-tech spin-off company Apierian to focus on mobile and online learning for students.
The new business will initially offer products consisting of interactive assessment and e-learning courses for students preparing for Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate exams.
The new jobs, which will be advertised in the next few days, will be mainly in online editorial and multimedia software development, the publisher said.
Half of the roles will be created in the coming year, with the remainder being rolled out in the following two-year period.
Folens group managing director John Cadell said Apierian’s products would be designed to assess each student’s unique abilities to help provide them with “the right content, at the right time and in the right way”.
Apierian is also exploring the possibility of developing the products for the UK and other international markets.
The new jobs will bring Folens’ total headcount to more than 100.
