ABOUT 120 technologists from around the world travelled to Dublin this weekend for the first Úll conference, which is devoted to Apple technology.

Úll, which is Irish for apple, was jointly organised by developers Dermot Daly and Paul Campbell.

Mr Daly said the conference aimed to showcase the city of Dublin as well as discussing issues around developing for Apple’s platforms.

The event was opened by Lord Mayor of Dublin Andrew Montague.

The three-day conference took place in venues around the city, including the Coach House in Dublin Castle and the Royal Hospital Kilmainham.

John Gruber, author of the Daring Fireball industry blog, gave a surprise keynote speech at the conference dinner on Saturday night.
