Microsoft has issued an update for its Xbox 360 console that sees greater integration of its voice controls and the promise of access to entertainment apps.
The console uses its Kinect sensor to allow players to use voice commands to navigate through the system. Users can also use gestures to control the menus and media content.
The latest update will make it easier to find friends to play online games online, through the creation of “beacons”.
Xbox Live users are being offered the chance to trial some of the service’s subscription features. Microsoft is opening up the platform for the weekend, with users able to access online gaming free.
