Peggle 2 is exclusive to Xbox One, rubbing shoulders with ambitious triple-A titles such as Ryse and Dead Rising 3. But Peggle 2 exists not as a showcase for the machine's capabilities (Peggle 1 is available for much punier devices), but because of its immense playability. The object is, simply, to fire a ball to bounce off – and eliminate – pegs. Clear the right pegs and you pass the level. It's a variation on a pinball machine, but with some small, crucial tweaks. Controlling the direction before you fire makes it much less a game of chance than pinball, but you're still at the mercy of physics and gravity. There are also bonus pegs that give you extra abilities. Peggle 2 doesn't deviate too much from its predecessor, and that's not a bad thing. There are some welcome control tweaks. The Xbox One controller allows for slightly more precise gameplay. And it's funny: seeing a cartoon unicorn head-banging to Beethoven's Ode to Joy never gets old. popcap. com/peggle2
