THIS WEEK:The next Pitchify networking event aimed at entrepreneurs, early-stage start-ups and students is to take place this Wednesday, and more than 400 people have registered so far, highlighting the ever-growing start-up community in Dublin.
Global marketing solutions manager (UK) at Facebook Catherine Flynn is the keynote speaker at the event, which takes place in the Odeon, and a representative from Facebook will discuss “Facebook for Business”.
The event will also give six start-ups the opportunity to do a three minute elevator pitch to investors.
The Pitchify movement was set up by National College of Ireland student Brian Daly and graduate Darren Mulvihill to educate and inform students about the start-up scene in Ireland, as well as accelerator programmes.
Keynote address
On the subject of entrepreneurs, award winning Irish entrepreneur Paul Kenny will deliver a keynote address to attendees of the inaugural UCC Business Information Systems (BIS) Society Conference in Cork today.
Also speaking at the event is James Whelton co-founder of Coderdojo.
